Hello Golfers,

Tuning Up Your Golf Muscles -

After a long winter without swinging a club we need to bring them out of hibernation. The best way to do that is with a weighted club. If you don't have one then just keep the head cover on your driver to add some resistance. Here's the reason I like this tip. In golf you don't need muscles that lift weights. You want muscles that can pop a whip-or play golf. When swinging the weighted club don't swing it so hard that you hurt yourself. Swing it in slow motion. Swinging in slow motion develops the golf muscles, implants the correct club positions in your golf brain. Every time you swing that weighted club, slow or moderately fast, aim the club head at a fixed spot and keep your head steady. Learn a good habit while you are building golf muscles. One other Note: Swing the weighted club the night before a round, not in the morning before you tee off. As the great Harvey Penick said, "save your strength for the golf course."
